Security:

There are extensive security measures in place:

  • The LDM is physically located in a discreet position somewhere in the office with a CAT5 or better connection, away from the server/IT room;
  • The LDM is in its own Workgroup and not part of your domain (i.e. access to the LDM by us does not grant us access to the rest of your network and vice versa). The LDM Administrator's password is maintained solely by us;
  • Remote access to the LDM is only initiated by the LDM itself on a heart-beat with our datacentre. If we need to access the LDM (e.g. for updates), on receipt of the next heart-beat, it is given an instruction to set up a session with us. Further, the LDM is configured to only connect to one of our range of IP addresses;
  • The LDM is unable to write/amend/delete any data held on your server except during deliberate restoration processes which requires your server's System Administrator level permissions;
  • Once the Differential File is produced, it is compressed and 128-bit encrypted before it is transmitted to our Datavaults where it remains uniquely encrypted;
  • The portable datavault is returned within robust and locked/sealed cases and is already encrypted;
  • Declaring a "DR Activation" can only be instigated by the technical contact using the correct password nominated by you on the Order Form or by a Director personally known to us;
  • There are 2 Datavaults in separate locations which are continuously synchronised (so you will have 3 distinct copies in 3 locations)
