Key Benefits

The main benefit of all our ISP services is the single point of contact and fully managed service:

1. DNS:

We manage your DNS record, providing quick and effective updates as and when required, no queuing into a call-centre + their time to implement these changes;

2. Web & Server hosting:

We look after the environment (not the web contents themselves). The key benefit is an alternative + accessible hosting solution that is separate from your web developers (because it's poor practice to have your web developer also host your web site in case their is a future issue...);

3. DSL:

This is a MANAGED SERVICE, providing a single, comprehensive point of contact for your Internet DSL. Where we also look after your IT (NetCare), you have end-to-end suport; so whenever your email stops, remote workers can't connect or users can't browse, one phone call passes the problem to us. Most of our Customers have either taken their line from inception (e.g. when moving offices) or following an issue with the previous ISP, fed-up with being caught in the middle. The key benefits are:

  • Support:

  • - No call-centres: The same very qualified NetCare engineering team;
    - Installation and remote management of every one of our routers;
    - VPNs: Provided you also have NetCare, we'll also support your VPNs;
    - Total hardware warranty for the life-time of the contract, including the replacement/reconfiguring of replacement routers.
  • Performance: As you're not travelling across the Public Internet, exposed to the vaguaries and inter-ISP gateway bottlenecks, you're maximising your inter-site performance (see "Topology");
  • Monitoring: We able to monitor traffic for performance and type to help in identifying issues (e.g. peering) which will damage the performance of your DSL line.
    Classic topology
  • Reliabilty:

  • - Even if the Public Internet has problems, your inter-site traffic will remain unaffected;
    - Our Internet Resilience Pack provides two DSL lines (second through a different carier but still managed by us) + auto-fail-over hardware + uplifted response times. For more information see [to be updated, 14 Jan 08].
  • Security: We installed a CISCO Intruder Protection System at the interface with the Public Internet to deal with:
    - Hacking: Port scan, Denial of Service attacks, Trojans;
    - Anti-spam: Recognises and blocks repeated emails from single sources;
    - Anti-virus: Recognises classic (but not substiute for your own AV package) viruses, such as Natchi, Sasser.

  • All our routers (even for home users) have ICSA certified firewalls;
    Inter-site IP address lock-down optionally available.
