Looking forward to 2021
IntraLAN’s Technical Director, Matt Tyerman, looks at the year ahead.
I, like many others, am pleased to see the back of 2020 and welcome in 2021. Although January may seem like more of the same after Boris’s latest address, there are green shoots indicating that a vibrant and healthy ecosystem is just waiting to spring back into action.
We should not just forget 2020 though. There are many lessons to be learned and while we all hope Covid-19 is a once in a lifetime event there is no telling what the next crisis will be or when it will occur.
For years the IT industry has been trying to convince business leaders and owners that investments in their technology are beneficial for business resilience and enablement. While 2020 has been unkind to many industries, it is those businesses that had invested in good technology that have adapted faster and, in many cases, found silvers linings in an otherwise dark and cloudy time.
As a member of the MSP community, we feel last year has proven the importance of our advice to invest in great technology.
Customers in even the hardest hit industries have continued to run their businesses through the pandemic without having to worry about their technical solutions failing or letting them down.
Businesses that listened to their IT departments or MSP partners about investing in resilient and robust IT and communications systems had one less thing to worry about in March and April 2020 when the world decided to work from home.
If you feel that your businesses technology could have supported you better during the crisis, now is the time to take action.
The technology marketplace has never been so busy, with literally thousands of companies touting for your business.
While this is great from a consumer point of view it can make finding the best solution for your business a bit daunting.
