Managing Mobile Across Your Business

The introduction of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies were a welcome change for SMEs looking to keep costs down, but they were also a cause for concern for many, especially as costly security breaches are always a risk.

Bringing personal devices onto the company network has its challenges and can cause network vulnerability issues. Cloud-based Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions ease this pressure, enabling you to effortlessly control all your mobile assets and ensuring business-critical data and applications remain secure.

Devices can be secured through encryption and enforced password policies, and if a device does go missing, unauthorised use and data leaks can be prevented with remote wiping and device restrictions.

Ongoing management is simpler too as all devices and operating systems can be managed from a single console. Updating policies, settings, certificates and other permissions can be done simultaneously and without the need for staff to manually implement updates themselves.

There are commercial benefits as well. Heavy data usage adds up financially, causing a costly shock at the end of the month if monitored poorly. MDM makes it possible to cap and control data usage for each device to keep costs under control.

As phishing and malware continue to be a prevalent issue, with mobile attacks on the rise, it’s important to have measures in place to defend against cyber threats. Web filtering polices help with GDPR compliance and real-time protection protects devices and blocks attackers from exfiltrating data from devices.

Business data is an incredibly strategic asset and threats on mobile and other devices are easily overlooked. It’s important to remember that any device that has access to your network should be monitored to protect business-critical data and prevent attacks, especially as mobile devices are used frequently outside the office and for personal as well as business use.
